A Personal Turning Point From Our Founder

“Hi Friend! I’m Brittany, a registered nurse with more than six years of experience spanning diverse specialties and patient support roles. Across every area of my nursing career, one truth has remained: Seeing patients, families, and staff alike struggle to navigate an overloaded, profit driven, and often broken healthcare system.

Just years into my career I began feeling defeated working alongside colleagues who gave everything to their patients, yet still watching the system fail them time and again often resulting in preventable complications and delayed healing. Then, a blessing in disguise changed everything.

When my grandfather underwent emergency open-heart surgery, I experienced the hospital journey as a family member. I naturally leaned on my nursing background to guide my loved ones through the fear, confusion, and emotional strain of making critical medical decisions in the midst of uncertainty. I stood beside them every step of the way, asking quesitions, challenging unsafe practices, and ultimately preventing an impersonal, money driven discharge plan that could have placed my grandfather at serious risk and left my grandmother, his primary caregiver, overwhelmed and unsupported.

That experience opened my eyes to just how valuable my knowledge could be in protecting families. It sparked a deep commitment to patient advocacy and inspired me to create My Nurse Friend: a service designed to make healthcare navigation accessible, affordable, and personalized. “
